Patrol |

Patrol is the 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays backbone of Police services to the City of Concordia. A total of 6 full-time officers and 8 reserve officers are employed by the department. There are three main shifts for Patrol. Officers are supervised by the Chief of Police, Assistant Chief of Police, and a Sergeant.
Officers work 8 hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., and 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Patrol is responsible for providing police services including crime prevention, crime detection, traffic services, investigation of offenses, and investigation of traffic accidents.

Criminal Investigations |

The Concordia Police Department employs a part-time detective. The primary duty of Criminal Investigations is to investigate all felony cases and some of the serious misdemeanor cases occurring within the City of Concordia. These include cases of robbery, arson, rape, child abuse, forgery, homicide, narcotics and felony stealing. Criminal Investigations is also responsible for processing crime scenes, collecting evidence, executing search warrants, maintaining the evidence room, and submission of evidence to the crime lab.
Criminal Investigations interacts with many outside law enforcement agencies including the FBI, Secret Service, ATF, DEA, Customs and OSI. Criminal Investigations participate regularly with the Missouri Rural Crime Squad investigating serious crimes in this region. The latest technology is utilized by Criminal Investigations.

Crime Scene Investigations |
The Crime Scene Unit is a team of trained crime scene technicians that are also members of the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, the Higginsville Police Department, and the Odessa Police Department. Members receive their training from the Kansas City Police Department Crime Scene Unit. The Unit is activated for major crimes such as Homicide, Rape, major Methamphetamine labs, and serious property crimes such as Burglary. |

Crisis Action Team |

The CAT team is a Specialized Weapons and Tactics Unit comprised of members from the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department and the Concordia, Odessa, and Higginsville Police Departments. The team is led by Sheriff Kerrick Alumbaugh. The team serves high risk warrants, resolves hostage situations and participates in high risk man hunts. To maintain proficient skills in weapons and tactics, the team trains frequently and for long hours. |
