The maintenance department maintains approximately twenty miles of streets. Funding for street maintenance is provided through the city's general fund, with supplemental monies from a capital improvement sales tax, of which 1/4-cent is designated for street and drainage improvements.

The city offers a curb and guttering program in which the home owner pays for installation and the city provides grading and finish work.

The city's main thoroughfare is Missouri Highway 23. U.S. Highway 40 and Intersection 70 also bisect the city. Maintenance for these three highways are done by Missouri Department of Transportation.

Maintenance staff are as follows: Doug Heimsoth, Superintendent, Alan Riesterer, Assistant Superintendent, Steve Knight, and Byron Lynn.
